Installation of Network Connections

To request network connection services (to add new data connections, or to change, move or delete any services) from Infrastructure Services (formerly Communication and Network Services), submit an order through the IST Shopping Cart (http://sagebrush.berkeley.edu/cgi-bin/ws515/sc.r).

Please plan well in advance of the date you require service. To discuss any connection service, or your particular requirements, call IST Telecom Consulting at 642-8500 and pressing 1, then 3 when prompted, or send email to servicedesk@berkeley.edu. To check on the status of an existing order, you can use the online CNS Request Form Query.

After Infrastructure Services has installed your connection to the campus network, your computer may need additional networking software and hardware to make use of this connection. You can obtain the software you need - in many cases, at no cost - and assistance with installing and using it from IST Connecting at Berkeley (C@B). You can contact C@B by calling 642-8500 then pressing 3, then 2 when prompted, or by sending email to servicedesk@berkeley.edu.

C@B can also advise you regarding any additional hardware that your computer might need. For instance, in some cases, you might need to install an Ethernet adapter - a printed circuit board that plugs into a slot inside your computer.
